Imagine having your college junior and senior years fully funded. Now imagine getting a salary while you complete your college degree.
That's what the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative (CSPI) program offers college sophomores and juniors. Better yet, CSPI provides students with valuable leadership, management, law enforcement, navigation and marine science skills and training. It also provides full payment of school tuition, fees, textbooks, salary, medical insurance, and other benefits during a student's junior and senior year of college. The CSPI program's goal is to train future officers for success and prepare them for the rigors of Officer Candidate School (OCS).
Each student is expected to complete his/her degree and all Coast Guard training requirements within 24 months after acceptance into the program. Following successful completion of OCS, the students will be commissioned as Coast Guard officers, committed to 3 years of active duty service.
